Question 1

Do I need a special fridge for outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An indoor bar fridge is built for room temperature, and in a hot alfresco area it runs constantly and fails early. Every fridge on this page carries an outdoor rating from its maker.

Question 2

Can I put a normal bar fridge outside?

Accepted Answer

No. Choose a model rated Indoor or Outdoor Enclosed Under Cover at minimum. Those are the under-cover models on this page.

Question 3

Can an outdoor fridge go in direct sun?

Accepted Answer

No. Even the outdoor-rated Rhino GSP models are IP24 rated to handle rain, but not direct sun. Put any outdoor fridge in shade.

Question 4

Are outdoor bar fridges weatherproof?

Accepted Answer

Only to their rating. Outdoor-rated models are IP24 rated to handle rain, but not direct sun. Under-cover models are rated for outdoor areas enclosed under cover, so they need a roof over them.

Question 5

What are typical outdoor bar fridge dimensions?

Accepted Answer

A single-door under-bench model here is 470 to 600mm wide and about 840 to 875mm high. Two-door models run 870 to 1200mm wide, three-door about 1350mm. Every listing gives the exact size and the ventilation clearance.

Question 6

Can a mini fridge go outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Only one rated for it. The smallest outdoor fridges here are the 89L Schmick SK86 and the 98L Schmick SC88, both rated for covered alfresco areas.

Question 7

What is the best outdoor fridge in Australia?

Accepted Answer

The one rated for where it will live. Our picks on this page cover under $1,000, covered alfresco, outdoor-rated, coastal and three-door.

Question 8

How much is delivery?

Accepted Answer

We deliver Australia-wide. Enter your postcode on any fridge to see the price and timing before you buy.
